Compulsory license

Any owner of dog(s) on the territory of the municipality must obtain a tag per animal from the SPA des Cantons.

Raccoon rabies

The municipality of West Bolton is one of the high-risk areas for raccoon rabies. Several cases have been reported and confirmed in recent months in neighboring municipalities.

IMPORTANT!

The MELCCFP announces a new preventive measure to curb the spread of raccoon rabies.

From now until August 17, 2025, it is forbidden to transport certain animals, while they are alive, on the territory of municipalities located around areas where cases of raccoon rabies have been confirmed.

Since January 2025, the Municipality has mandated the SPA des Cantons for the management of domestic animals on its territory and the application of it's BY-LAW No. 464-2024 RESPECTING THE CONTROL AND RESPONSIBLE CARE OF DOMESTIC ANIMALS

Municipal licenses help protect your pet and support 24/7 animal services in your municipality. Using the QR code on the back of the tag, anyone who finds your pet will be able to contact you quickly (source: SPA des Cantons).
