Civil Safety Week: Let's Take Action

Monday, April 20, 2026

This year, Civil Protection Week will take place from May 3 to 9 under the theme “Working Together for Everyone's Safety.”

Civil Safety Week will take place from May 3 to 9, 2026. As a citizen, you are primarily responsible for your own safety and that of your family, as well as for protecting your property.

Civil safety is a shared responsibility among citizens, municipalities, and the government to ensure the safety of the population in the event of a disaster or emergency—that is, a natural or human-caused event that can result in damage and loss of life.

In the event of a disaster or natural disaster, you are primarily responsible for your own safety. It is important to be prepared to stay in your home, ensuring your well-being and safety until rescue teams arrive, while also being able to leave quickly if necessary.
